Dr. Sashwanthi Mohan

Dr. Sashwanthi Mohan is a Specialist Ophthalmologist in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Medcare Eye Centre, Dubai. She completed her MBBS from the Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital and her DNB in Ophthalmology from the L.V.Prasad Eye Institute, both in India. She is a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) and a Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh member (MRCS). She was awarded the Dr. G. Venkataswamy Gold Medal for Ophthalmology during her DNB course.
 

During the initial stage of her career, Dr. Mohan worked as a Consultant in the Vitreoretinal Department at the Rajan Eye Care Hospital. She was a vitreoretinal Fellow at the Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation, in Chennai. She is proficient in performing cataract surgeries, retinal lasers, intravitreal injections, and vitreoretinal surgeries. Her expertise ranges from managing vitreomacular diseases, medical and surgical retina conditions, ocular inflammation and uveitis.

Among her other accomplishments, is a stint as an Education and Research Associate at the Rajan Eye Care Hospital, being on the editorial board and a speaker at the Ophthalmology Foundation, and being a mentor at Medisage. She has a keen interest in research and has many peer-reviewed publications to her name. She is also interested in education and has an educational website called Ophthalmobytes and shares education content on various social media platforms.

Dr. Mohan loves travelling, trying different cuisines, playing tennis and playing the ukulele during her leisure houses. She speaks English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
